Elon Musk is taking his company’s corporate motto of “parental autonomy” very literally.
Musk told reporters Tuesday that he and his wife, Amaury, have adopted a policy of “super-parenting,” saying they’re “super protective of their children.”
Musk said he and Amavy adopted this policy after they were diagnosed with autism and later developed a child care system.
Musk said they are now “doing the exact opposite of what we would do if we were the parents.”
“We have a child support order, and they are the parents.
We have a very good child care program.
So, in a sense, it’s kind of like we’re super-parent,” Musk said.”
And I think it’s a really important thing, because parents are really important to their children and to their future,” he said.
Musker said he is “really proud” of the children he has adopted from other families, including his two daughters, Maddie and Willow.
Musks youngest daughter Willow is 14.
