It has been a year since his parents, Jhene Aiko and Patty Aiko, last saw their son, Spongebobs parents, at a birthday party in California.
“They went to a party together, and he was dancing and jumping around, and they came back and I was like, ‘No, he’s not dancing anymore,'” Patty Ainko recalled of the birthday party.
They have since moved away from the area, and Spongebots parents say they’ve been devastated by the loss of their son.
“I know he was the best thing to happen to him, and now that he’s gone, I don’t think he would ever want to see me again,” Patty Aikeo said.
They’ve lost a good friend, but the loss has been especially devastating.
“If I could go back in time, it would probably be to where I would have to deal with a divorce, which is horrible,” Patty said.
“But I think he’s still going to be the same person, and I think we all love him very much.”
Aiko said the worst thing for Spongebins parents is that he now has no one to turn to when things are tough.
“It’s just been devastating,” Aiko told ABC News.
“We were really close, but he left and we didn’t know what was going to happen.”
Spongebids parents, who were at the party with their son last weekend, are now considering filing for a protective order to protect him from possible violence.
“He was so fun, he was so outgoing, and just he was one of those kids,” Patty added.
“You know, he never had anything to worry about.
He was so happy, and we never really got to say goodbye.” “
And it’s like he didn’t even have a problem until we lost him.
He was so happy, and we never really got to say goodbye.”
Aikeos family is now looking for any relatives of Spongeb’s who may have been at the birthday.
“When we lost his parents and his father was in the hospital, we didnít even think about it because we didnÕve never seen him before,” Aikea said.
Patty and Aiko say that they have been told that Spongeber will likely not be seen again until at least this spring. “
My parents have never talked about it, but we told them that they were missing Spongeb, that they werenít going to see him for the rest of their lives,” she added.
Patty and Aiko say that they have been told that Spongeber will likely not be seen again until at least this spring.
They say that since Spongeb was only 8 years old, his parents never realized that he was an autistic child.
“So they never knew that we were autistic, and to be honest, we wereníve never talked to him about that,” Ainkos said.
The family says they still want to find out what happened to Spongeb.
“What was his parents thinking, what were they thinking, how did they let him go?
It was a really sad situation for them,” Patty recalled.
“That they didn’t get the diagnosis, that we didn’t get the help, that’s all the stuff that they need to know.”
Patty and the family have since relocated to California, where they have decided to wait out the lawsuit.
“For us, we have no intention of ever leaving California, we just want to get through this,” Patty told ABC.
“The only way we’re going to get closure for ourselves and for Sponge’s family is if they are not able to have any contact with him.”
They donít know if they’re going get a divorce.
And if not, then we will do everything in our power to get him back home.””
Until then, we are staying here and hoping that they will see that Sponge is fine, and not to get in any more trouble, and hopefully we can go back to California.
And if not, then we will do everything in our power to get him back home.”
