Matthew McConaughe, who starred in the movie ‘Ghostbusters’ and is a father of two, recently spoke about protecting his children online.
In the interview, he talked about how he would protect his daughter in the event she was in danger, saying that she would be able to communicate with him via a remote control, but that he would still be able hear her through the internet.
“It is very, very scary to think that the internet can be a weapon that can be used against your family,” McConaughhe told The Guardian.
“I have three children and they are all in their early twenties and they all go to school together and have fun together.
So it’s a lot of fun to play, but you never know what is going to happen.”
McConaughee’s daughter, Sarah, also goes to school with him and he is worried about her safety online.
“If they go online and they go to certain websites, it’s always possible that someone will come in and steal something.
You just never know, you never want to be a victim of that.”
When he was a teenager, McConoughes’ older sister, Claire, started to get her own online presence, as did his brother, John.
“My kids have been very active online and it’s been fun, but it’s also made me very, quite nervous,” he said.
It’s always a new experience for us. “
But then as an adult, you don’t.
It’s always a new experience for us.
We haven’t been there yet.
I think that’s why it’s not safe to be online.””
If you are doing something, you have to be careful.
You have to take some steps to protect yourself.
I do have a child who is very active on the internet, and it makes me very nervous when she is online.”
He said that if he were in a similar situation, he would want to use parental controls.
“What if she goes online and she sees that I’m watching that movie?
I think it’s important to know how to protect your children online,” he explained.
“So we have the ability to control who can see what we are doing online.”
The best thing that I can say to you is that I do think that parents need to be responsible and I don’t think you can have your child online without parental controls.””
I’m just saying, you can’t go on the Internet and be on social media all day long.
It makes you really, really nervous, and I think you have an obligation to have a little bit of control over that.
